SHaRED: How to complete the About tab

This tab will inform the users with the legal obligations and limitations of use of the dataset and any other relevant details such as resources and publications. Standard constrains that apply to all TERN’s datasets are reported in the top part of the tab.

If future use of the dataset has specific constrains, please type them in this field and click [Add], e.g.:

Security Classification

Most of the datasets published by TERN are “unclassified”. If you think this is not suitable for your record please contact esupport@tern.org.au to discuss.

Environment Description

This field only applies to processed data. For raw data, please leave it blank.

If the dataset consists of processed data, please provide details about the software and hardware used and other relevant details, e.g.:

Associated Documentation

Publication

Provide a list of publications that are related to this dataset. These can include manuscripts that have used the dataset, or any other publication referenced in the record whose url has not already been included elsewhere.

Click [Add] and complete the fields in the pop-up window.

The title shoud be entered in the format: Creator (PublicationYear). Title. Publisher. Identifier, e.g. “Lamel L., Rabiner L., Rosenberg A. and Wilpon J. (1891). An improved endpoint detector for isolated word recognition. IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 29 (4): 777-785”.

Please do not include manuals or protocols. These should be in the “How” tab under “Method documentation”.

Please provide a url for the publication. Only publications with a valid url will be accepted.

Supplemental information

In this field you can specify any further information about the datset that has not been captured elsewhere in the record.

Resource specific usage

If the dataset can only be used for some purposes, but not others, please specify it in this field e.g.:

Acknowledgment

Use this field to acknowledge parties that provided funding or other contributions for the collection of the dataset. E.g.:

Citation

The system automatically generates a citation. This will be included in the metadata record. You can preview the citation at the top of the Lodge tab. If further information is needed in the citation, please add it here. The text will be appended at the end of the citation. All citations are displayed according to the DataCite Metadata Schema.

 

Click the [Save] button to store the changes to the record (top right above the tabs).
