Over 100 CubeSat sensors provide a unique opportunity to observe mangroves across Australia on a near daily basis (cloud permitting). The University of New South Wales (UNSW) has worked closely with PlanetLabs, through their Ambassador Program, to provide a preview of mangrove extent in the north of Australia for 2014 and 2016. Colour mosaics of these data are being made available (Courtesy of Planetlabs) to allow scientists to access the extent of mangrove dieback and recovery (if and where this occurs) in the north of Australia.
