The Data Sources tab allows to upload data files or to identify the location of a data service.

File formats

Drop, browse or upload files
You can upload files directly in the following ways:
Files that are on your computer:
drag and drop them from your computer into the box below
or you can click My Device and browse your computer to find the files
Link. Click on Link, than paste a url to import a file.
ASDS see
Click on ‘A title is required’ and fill in the title in the pop up window.
Click [Save]
The title will appear
The title will appear on the metadata record. It should allow identifying the content of the file. If your file had already been labelled in a way that allows clear identification (as in the example above) the title can be the same as the file name.
To delete a file from the list, click the [x] on the right hand side.
Thumbnail
The thumbnail allows you to upload a small image. To upload a thumbnail:
Drag an image of not more than 3 Mb into the area specified for thumbnails
Provide a Title for the thumbnail
Data services
Data services include files hosted on a web site, a THREDDS Server or delivered via a web service. This option can be used if:
One or more of your files are > 100 Mb. In this case, please follow these instructions.
The record refers to an ongoing dataset already hosted by a Data Service.
To add a Data Service, click the [Add] button and complete the following fields in the pop-up window:

URL Address | Type or paste the URL to access the data. | Mandatory. |
Layer Name | Input the name if the data is provided via a web coverage service (WCS) or web map service (WMS). | Mandatory for WCS or WMS service types. |
Distributor’s Organisation | By default it is set to TERN. This value can be changed by selecting an input from the selection list | Not a mandatory field |
Click [Save] to store the input, or [Cancel] to ignore the input. The Add Data services window closes.
Click the [Save] button to store the changes to the record (top right above the tabs).
