The virtual desktop Operating System

The CoESRA virtual desktop environment runs Rocky Linux.

Secure Socket Shell (SSH) access

Once logged into the CoESRA web portal, access SSH mode from the dashboard as ‘SSH to Desktop’ which opens into a new window.

Customisable virtual desktop settings

The default virtual desktop settings are designed to service the majority of virtual desktop use cases. However, if you should need access to more computing resources for your project, you can customise the resources allocated to your desktop by clicking the Change Settings button and changing the resource allocations as required.

Users can choose between a virtual desktop that uses CPUs or GPUs as well as being able to adjust the number of virtual cores and memory. For further information about how to customise your virtual desktop, go to https://ternaus.atlassian.net/l/cp/AhtRH1x1.

File Transfer function

Opening the File Transfer tab allows users to upload files from their local computer/desktop into CoESRA virtual desktop. The same functionality allows files to be downloaded from CoESRA virtual desktop to local computer/desktop. It also allows users to copy and paste text data from their local computer/desktop into and out of the virtual desktop environment.

In addition, files can be dragged and dropped on to the CoESRA virtual desktop.

Further information on how to use the File Transfer function is available on the https://ternaus.atlassian.net/l/cp/0GYD2Nog page.
