Landscape Data Visualiser Overview
The Landscape Data Visualiser contains the following types of data, which users can access and visualiser using the map search:
Vector data consists of points and polygons representing features and their attributes. The Landscape Visualiser includes several TERN Infrastructure feature maps and feature-based products. Examples of datasets with vector data include:
TERN Supersites
Carbon Flux (TERN OzFlux Sites)
TERN Phenocamera network
Raster data is digital information in a grid, where each cell (pixel) holds a value representing attributes like color, temperature, or elevation. Most raster data published in Landscape Visualiser use NetCDF or Cloud Optimised GeoTIFF (COG) formats. However, 3D geospatial data from drone campaigns use Cloud Optimised Point Cloud (COPC). Examples of datasets containing raster data include:
Tree cover
Rainfall
Soil Moisture
Accessing the Landscape Data Visualiser
Opening the link https://maps.tern.org.au/, users will be greeted with the below homepage.
To search for data, users can select either the Data Visualiser or Map buttons.
Both the Data Visualiser and Map buttons will redirect the user to the search page, where they can browse and select layers to view on the map.
