Landscape Data Visualiser Overview

The Landscape Data Visualiser contains the following types of data, which users can access and visualiser using the map search:

  • Vector data consists of points and polygons representing features and their attributes. The Landscape Visualiser includes several TERN Infrastructure feature maps and feature-based products. Examples of datasets with vector data include:

    • TERN Supersites

    • Carbon Flux (TERN OzFlux Sites)

    • TERN Phenocamera network

  • Raster data is digital information in a grid, where each cell (pixel) holds a value representing attributes like color, temperature, or elevation. Most raster data published in Landscape Visualiser use NetCDF or Cloud Optimised GeoTIFF (COG) formats. However, 3D geospatial data from drone campaigns use Cloud Optimised Point Cloud (COPC). Examples of datasets containing raster data include:

    • Tree cover

    • Rainfall

    • Soil Moisture
