Viewing Search Results in EcoImages
Search results for EcoImages are listed on the Search page. Whilst users can search in either Data View or Map View, result details are shown in Data View. Results are displayed in a grid based layout, with the site name, image type and creation date shown on the thumbnail of the image.
The Data View of results allows users to select both the number of results displayed on the page, as well as how these are sorted. The default view is for 25 records per page, sorted by Image Creation Date in descending order. Other options include 50, 75, 100, 125 or 150 results per page, with sorting only able to be switched between ascending (oldest to newest) and descending (newest to oldest) Image Creation Dates.
Once users have selected their preferred display, they can navigate between different pages of results using the next, previous, first or last page buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Viewing Individual Images
To see additional information about an image, users can click on it to enlarge it. Metadata contained in this view will be dependent on what has been sent by the image provider, however each metadata field contains links to the relevant TERN Linked Data Viewer entry or, for site coordinates, a map showing the site location.
This enlarged view of the image also allows users to download the individual image (if signed in), or report an issue with the image (e.g. blurry, incorrect metadata).
