EcoImages Map-Based Search
Users can search for images via the map on the Search page. To get to the map-based search, users can select the Map View button at the top of the search filters. Once selected, this button will change to “Data View”, which users can select if they wish to view their results as a table.
This map has the following basic functions:
Toggle map buttons
Zoom in
Zoom out
Zoom to full extent
Search by address
Users can select whether the map will show the TERN Surveillance Monitoring plots (first screenshot) or Ecosystem Processes SuperSites (second screenshot) by selecting the relevant entry on the legend at the bottom right of the screen.
Users can refine the sites shown on the map using the filters on the left of the screen. If users wish to view details of the sites shown on the map, they can click the site for further information.
For further information and to view the images associated with the sites, users can click View Site, or for individual plots from the TERN Surveillance Monitoring Plots, click View Plot. Alternatively, users can use the filters on the left of the screen to refine their search and switch to Images View.
Searching by Region
Users can also find images by region, using the filter on the left of the screen. When using this filter, the map will automatically zoom to and highlight the selected region.
Multiple region types are available, including but not limited to Bioregions, States and Territories and NRM regions. Once a Region Type is selected, users can then select the region to search. Please note that not all regions will contain sites or images.
For searches with results, users can then choose to either view the site or plot information by clicking on the site or plot or open the image view to see the images associated with that region.
Selecting “Clear Search” after a regions search will return the map to its original extent.
