Viewing, Editing and Deleting Data Packages in EcoAcoustics
Once a data package has been created, users are redirected to the My Downloads page. This page allows users to do the following things:
View their data packages,
Edit the Title and Description of their data packages,
Mint Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for their data packages,
Delete data packages without a minted DOI, and
Download their data packages.
Where users have multiple packages in the My Downloads page, users have the option of selecting the number of packages to display per page (15, 50, 100), with pagination available for ease of navigation. Packages can be sorted in either ascending or descending order by Title, Minted (whether the user has minted a DOI for the package), Status (Available, Requested, Processing, Updated or Packaging) and Created Date.
Viewing Data Packages
To see more detail about a saved package, users can either click on the package name to expand it or use the Actions menu and select “View”, to redirect them to a separate page with the package details.
Editing Data Packages
Users can only edit the Title and Description of a data package. To do this, click the Actions menu and select “Edit”. This will open a page where the Title and Description can be edited and saved.
Deleting Data Packages
Users can only delete data packages which they have not minted a DOI for. This is because a DOI represents a specific unique package of published data. To find out more about DOIs please refer to https://www.doi.org/.
To delete a package without a minted DOI, users can select “Delete” from the Actions menu against the selected package. This will generate a pop up requiring the user to confirm deletion.
Selecting “Delete” will permanently delete the package from the users account, whilst selecting “Cancel” will return the user to their My Downloads page.
Alternatively, users can delete a package from within the View Package page. Using the Delete function from this page will generate the same “Confirm Delete” pop up message as above, to prevent accidental deletions.
