EcoPlots Portal Overview

This “getting started” guide will help you to access the EcoPlots data portal and give you an overview of its functionality.

Navigation Features

In the navigation bar of the EcoPlots data portal, there are five menu options:

• Home will take you to the EcoPlots portal homepage,

• Search will open the data portal search engine and its filters, with separate search pages for observations and samples,

• Resources will open a dropdown menu (further details provided below),

• My Results display a list of all the data packages requested from your account, divided into separate pages for observations and samples packages. Note this menu only appears if the user is signed into their account,

• Help will open to the EcoPlots user guide.

Resources Menu

The Resources menu includes the following options:

• Data Sources will open the portal page giving statistical information about the observations data available through EcoPlots,

• The EcoPlots API link opens the TERN EcoPlots REST API via the Swagger UI, allowing users to experiment with calls to the TERN API using their browser.

• The API Query Dashboard opens a query interface allowing users to generate code that can be used to programmatically access data and visually test their API request.

• The Release Notes link opens a list of changes to the EcoPlots application, including new features and bug fixes.

• The Sample Types link opens the TERN eSupport page which explains the types of samples collected as part of site-based surveys and collection methods used.
