How is the citation constructed from the metadata?

The citation is constructed according to the Datacite citation format, see https://datacite.org/cite-your-data.html

Authors and co-authors (Publication year). Title. Version. Publisher. Resource type. Identifier

where

Authors and co-authors are taken from the Who tab under Responsible for the creation of dataset
(Authors in the order listed, followed by co-authors in the order listed).
Publication year is assigned by SHaRED based on the date the metadata has been published on TERN’s Portal.
Title is from the Data Identification tab.
Version currently defaults to 1.0. unless you specify otherwise in the Data Identification tab.
Publisher is Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN).
Resource type is Dataset.
Identifier isassigned by SHaRED and is the TERN-specific URL or DOI, if a DOI has been minted.
If you provided additional text for the citation in the Specific citation field in the About tab, it is appended to the citation, after Identifier.
