Goals of the Product
The goal of SHaRED is to author ISO 19115-3 compliant metadata and upload and/or link associated data.
Release Details
New Features
The new version of SHaRED improves user experience and complies with the latest version of the TERN ISO 19115-3 profile requirements.
Following are some of the new functionalities of the tool:
Allow the use of an Organisation as an Author for data attribution
Improvement of User Interface
Support for representing the parent-child relationship between metadata records
Tooltips for each metadata field to guide users on data submission
Grouping of all controlled vocabularies and keywords under descriptive keywords and redesign of the interface to represent all keywords
Redesign the interface to capture methods and descriptive information about data quality
Inclusion of new elements to capture data processing environmental description
Showcase citation statements and the ability to add an acknowledgement statement as part of the data citation
Provide options to add organisation as a responsible party for datasets
Provide options to add organisation as a publisher for dataset and metadata
Provide support to add different geodetic datums (GDA84, GDA2020, etc.)
The ability for users to input any vocabulary, not in the vocabulary list
Users should be able to input vocabulary terms that are not in the current list
User-specified vocabularies can be curated and added to TERN vocabularies
The entries made by users will be shown in a different colour
Provide a preview of all the entries for users before submitting
Add citation text in the preview
Curation of user-defined vocabularies
DUMA (TERN vocabulary editorial tool) retrieves user-defined vocabularies from SHaRED for curation programmatically.
System-level
Controlled vocabularies are indexed and accessible from Elastic search
SHaRED exports metadata records to GeoNetwork, removing the manual transfer
Limit email to TERN eSupport only from the record owner, not from admin modifying any records
Multiple users can edit records
Provide field for admin to add feedback for users during the review process
Use of party: organisation as an author in the DOI
Improvements
The user interface has been improved, and all relevant fields are now grouped for a better flow of information.
TERN is supported by the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
