QUESTION

SPS is not ingested from CORVEG into ecoplots, vocabulary definition is missing. This variable is crucial for the calculation of stem density

ANSWER

from Dale Richter (DES):The SPS field is the Stem Plot Size.  Size in square meters over which a stem count is performed.  We have had problems with the values in this field in the past especially for the historical records.  We have made some efforts to verify and correct these values but there is still more work to do.  This field is required if you want to do any stem density calculations.  To verify and correct these records is not an easy task unfortunately.

definition for SPS has to be added to vocabulary
Quality control needs to be done to verify values (see answer above)
