The TERN Data collection principle states that TERN will publish any dataset collected by the TERN observing platforms. The TERN will also publish data collections which meet the following requirements:
Terrestrial ecosystem data collected or derived by the collaborating institutes
Terrestrial ecosystem data related to the Australian landscape
Terrestrial ecosystem data collected and derived in collaboration with Australian organisations and researchers
Data derived from the TERN observing platform primary data collections.
SHaRED provides enables terrestrial ecosystem and environmental data holders to create metadata records and submit them with the associated data file(s) for upload to the TERN Data Portal. All Users can manage draft, submitted, and users can manage uploaded records on their personal dashboards. Users must contact the TERN help desk via esupport@tern.org.au before publishing sensitive data, including threatened species and threatened ecosystem communities.
