The virtual desktop Operating System
The CoESRA virtual desktop environment runs BlueOnyx that is based on AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux on the CPU node and CentOS Ubuntu Linux on the GPU node.
Secure Socket Shell (SSH) access
Once logged into the CoESRA web portal, access SSH mode from the dashboard as ‘SSH to Desktop’ which opens into a new window.
CustomisingCustomisable virtual desktop settings
The default virtual desktop settings are designed to service the majority of virtual desktop use cases. However, if you should need access to more computing resources for your project, you can customise the resources allocated to your desktop by clicking the Change Settings button and changing the resource allocations as required.

File Transfer function
The Opening the File Transfer function can be used tab allows users to upload files from their local machinecomputer/desktop to into CoESRA virtual desktop and download files . The same functionality allows files to be downloaded from CoESRA virtual desktop to local machine/computer/desktop. It also allows users to copy and paste text data from their local computer/desktop into and out of the virtual desktop environment.
In addition, files can be dragged and dropped on to the CoESRA virtual desktop.
