TERN’s SHaRED https://shared.tern.org.au/ (submission, harmonisation and retrieval of ecological data) is the Data Submission Tool that provides a user interface to collect metadata a web-enabled metadata authoring tool for research data collections in a standardised format compliant with the TERN Metadata Profile of the ISO 19115-3 Standard.
TERN Data collection principle states that TERN will publish any dataset collected by the TERN observing platforms. The TERN will also publish data collections which meet following requirements:
Terrestrial ecosystem data collected or derived by the collaborating institutes
Terrestrial ecosystem data related to Australian landscape
Terrestrial ecosystem data collected are derived in collaboration with Australian organisations and researchers
Data derived from the TERN observing platform primary data collections.
SHaRED provide terrestrial ecosystem and environmental data holders to create metadata records and submit them with associated data file(s) for upload to the TERN Data Portal. All draft, submitted, and uploaded records can be managed by users on their personal dashboard. Users are requested to contact TERN help desk via esupport@tern.org.au before publishing any sensitive data including threatened species and threatened ecosystem communities.
